Mean Mr. Mustard

The menu offered a nice variety of options. We were a little surprised that by mid-morning on a Sunday they were already out of the special omelet. The food was rich and heavy, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but be aware. I ordered the stuffed French toast and was expecting something other than French toast with ham between the slices. The wait staff was friendly to us and we liked the idea of the cafe. Unfortunately for our group we were sitting next to the kitchen. This allowed us to overhear some harsh kitchen conversation which affected our comfort level and enjoyment of our meal. There was a lot of heavy-footed walking by the staff near the kitchen which could have been the wooden floors, heavy feet, or some angry employees. Coupled with the overheard conversation we just weren't sure. But it created a tone that, as a visitor from out of town, I'll find another place to try next time, or just go across the street to Hen Dough for chicken and doughnuts.

This burger cost me $9. I also ordered it medium, not extra well done. They also do not have French fries. The "loaded potato salad" was decent, as well as the blueberry pancakes. We had three burgers and two blueberry pancakes, and it came out to about $50. There was no Beatles music playing or anything, just a few pictures on the wall.

Very cool place - a Beatles themed breakfast and lunch restaurant with a unique menu of delicious choices. I had the Helter Skelter, which had ham, bacon, egg, tomato and gouda, and the best grits I’ve ever had. The waitress said they are made with cream and cream cheese so they were creamy and silky smooth. I could’ve ate a whole plate with just those! The service was fantastic and Lori was funny and made great suggestions. She was wonderful and so was the experience!

Love this place. Fresh food, great atmosphere and they have a musician that plays throughout the week not sure on the times he's excellent! Best breakfast place to eat in Henderson County!

I dont know about the rest of the menu but breakfast was great. They have a lot of Beatles memorabilia. The food was above average and the service was great. Well worth trying out.

Nice patio, scenic. average American breakfast. The charges snuck up on us though. Coffee is included in some meals not others. Bacon is an additional charge. The coffee is pretty poor at $2.50. Service was great though! This place Has potential.

Beware, business hours listed online are not accurate. Stopped by today and they were closed. Heard good things about this place but when you're suppose to be open and customers show up and your business is closed...not good. Plenty of other choices locally, try those first!

Great place, great food, and great service my husband and I loved it

This is my favorite place for breakfast. The food is always outstanding with new specials all the time. The service is wonderful and very pleasant. You will not be disappointed coming here.

Rare hidden gem. A place full of Beatles memorabilia and good food too. We ate crab omelets with a potato casserole unlike any I've eaten before. Fresh from scratch biscuits and Chai tea. All was wonderful. Service was great. It was a fun place to dine.

Very good -- I got the Mean Mr. Mustard egg Benedict and it was very good. They do not poach eggs so I got mine over-medium...it was also served with a biscuit instead of English muffin and it was delicious.

A Beatles themed breakfast and lunch place with an interesting menu. I'll have to get back with the menu itself. It's a good place to eat

Excellent. One of the best eggs benedict I’ve ever had. All the food looked very fresh and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing.

Arrived on a Sunday around 10am. I ordered the waffle of the day (pecan) and my friend the biscuits and gravy. My waffle tasted like it was cooked a day ago and even had a refrigerated flavor. The pecans were just spread on top and weren't baked into it. The bacon was awesome though. They also had a sign up that they were closing at 1 (hours on door say 2) which I have seen other reviewers mention so it must happen fairly often. I'll try other places around HVille rather than return here next time I'm visiting.

If you can and weather permitting do sit out on their lani. Great overview of Kanuga. The seasonal pumpkin pancakes were very good.

If you are a Beatles fan..stop in and admire the walls as you dine on the best grits in town. The menu theme follows the wall pictures of the Fab 4. We enjoyed a fabulous 3 egg omelet, the specials are to die for. The place is quaint and service most friendly. We will frequent often. Enjoy!!!

This is the coolest place!!! “Beatle” based with a fun atmosphere! The food has been awesome every visit!! Great coffee/expresso!! Cool owner that will occasionally surface from the kitchen and visit the tables!! Best breakfast/brunch food in town!! Omelets are off the chart!!

"He Jude"! "Here comes the sun", let's "come together" and sit on a cornflake for breakfast at "Mean Mr. Mustard". "I want to hold your hand" and take you up "the long and winding road" from Spartanburg to Hendo. Great staff and amazing food. I can't wait to "Get back" to this cozy establishment. "With a little help from my friends", "We can work it out". I give this Beatles themed restaurant "All my loving"!

Locals brunch only eatery hidden away. Well worth the find. Food was eggcellent. Cost is $7-12 for entrees. Family run and inside is "Beatles" themed memorabilia.

Awesome place to eat crystal is a great upbeat and professional waitress who is well worth the trip the food is excellent by far the ambiance is extrodinary who doesn’t like a little bit of the Beatles wit( they’re Sunday morning breakfast this place is awesome there is a peaceful cohesiveness among the staff very peaceful place to eat I found my new breakfast place way to go a new diamond in the rough my husband and I enjoyed it eumensly

This place is worth a try. They have big portions for fair prices. Regularly well organized and with fantastic atmosphere. Will visit here again.

Amazing food and great service. I had the crab eggs benedict meal and it was delicious. The grits were creamy! All around a lovely experience. Also the Beatles theme is super neat.

Have to give it 1 star as we were unable to dine at Mean Mr. Mustard Cafe, because it was closed - EVEN THOUGH their website said they were open! We went out of our way to have breakfast there. Really! How rude! Not a professional way to conduct business or be respectful to your clientele. I am amazed at the way business is conducted.

Best grits ever. Couldn't wait to dig into my chef's special: chicken fajita omelet. Open Weds to Sun only.

The atmosphere is always very relaxed, the food is very good and the staff is friendly and attentive. At peak meal times there is usually a wait since the place is relatively small, but it is worth the wait.

My first experience with the restaurant was in the old location in downtown Hendersonville; needless to say that was 5 years ago and this was my first time back. The staff was more pleasant and attentive, but the food still lacked in quality.I had the Crab Benedict: first, they do not offer poached eggs, which, I'm pretty sure by definition, a normal Benedict does. The over-easy eggs were a great substitute, but not the same. Next, the hollandaise was replaced by a cream salsa; maybe sticking with a traditional hollandaise would have been a better call, as this was more soupy, rather than the rich, creamy texture you would expect. I enjoyed the 12-grain bread as a base, but the crab "cakes" were more fish meatballs.Go here if the restaurant across the street isn't busy and you want to wait for mediocre food.

I've been to this restaurant twice. Decor is true to The Beatles theme and cute. Service is good. The food is okay but nothing I found particularly special. Portions are small for the price and you will be charged an extra fee ($1 today) to pay by card. Probably will skip this place next time we're in town as there are many other exceptional options in the area. They are closed Monday and Tuesday which is common for this area.

Good food. Creative. We even enjoyed a singer guitarist's entertainment a our breakfast visit. Unusual and a surprise for an extra treat at that hour.

Excellent menu and delicious food. The decor is Beatles themed, they also play Beatles music. The furniture is comfy and there is a friendly attitude. Finally caught up with Lori after 15+ years!!
